Backup Receptionist
Overview:
The Backup Receptionist reports directly to the Manager of Administrative Services and provides coverage for the regular receptionist(s) during scheduled and occasional emergency absences. The Backup Receptionist will professionally greet and direct callers, visitors, guests and vendors and perform general clerical tasks to support daily operations.
Qualifications:
- Prior customer/client service experience
- Bilingual preferred
Job Skills Required:
- General office skills (typing, filing, answering phones, etc.)
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize actions or tasks
- Ability to function collaboratively within a team environment
- Computer proficiency – Microsoft Office Suite and other office productivity tools
Job Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls and relay to appropriate staff or department.
- Greet/welcome visitors, guests and vendors and direct appropriately.
- Issue access badges and obtain vehicle keys when appropriate.
- Monitor security cameras and enforce access control and safety procedures.
- Meter all outgoing mail for CAC staff only.
- Log package deliveries and notify recipient (acquire signature when package is retrieved).
- Receive in-kind gifts and donations accepted at the front desk and promptly notify appropriate staff.
- Track number of access badges daily.
- Secure reception office at the end of evening shift.
- Attend administrative services staff meetings.
- Maintain reception area and all common areas in a clean and tidy manner.
- Maintain professional demeanor; demonstrate integrity and adhere to confidentiality policies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Community Educator - Contract Position
Overview:
The Community Educator Contract Position is responsible for driving the outreach and educational efforts of Children’s Advocacy Center through community education trainings. This role focuses on educating community members, professionals, organizations, and students’ kindergarten through twelfth grade about child abuse prevention, identification, reporting procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Superior communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Highly detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience in public speaking, training, or educational program delivery preferred
- Skilled public speaker with ability to engage diverse audiences
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains positive working relationships with public and private schools, childcare programs, community agencies, groups, and corporations to educate and train personnel in identifying victims of child abuse, the proper steps to take to report the abuse, and the role of Children’s Advocacy Centers in child abuse investigations.
- Facilitates agency education and outreach programs.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and feedback.
- Maintain educational materials and resources for various audiences.
- Maintain and track hours spent conducting professional presentations.
Working Conditions:
- Travel required throughout the Collin County area to conduct presentations.
- Flexible schedule including some evenings, occasional early mornings at schools, and weekends.
- Occasional in-office hours for training and supervision.

Internships
Family Advocacy Internships
As a Family Advocate Intern Caseworker, you will have opportunities to work directly with client families, as well as assist our Multi-Disciplinary Team in investigations and manage cases of alleged abuse and neglect. As an intern, you will gain invaluable experience in conducting needs assessments with caregivers, observe forensic and suspect interviews, shadow CPS and law enforcement in the field, provide child engagement to children receiving services, attend and observe criminal and civil trials, and gain understanding on how the Multi-Disciplinary Team works.
Please note, this is an unpaid internship.
Internship Requirements:
Weekly Availability: 16 hours in the spring/fall and 20 hours in the summer.
- Participate in a mandatory three-day orientation prior to beginning the internship
- Pass a criminal background check
- Pass an applicant interview process
- Participate in weekly supervision activities
- Scheduled on-call emergency child engagement

Child Engagement Internships
As a Child Engagement Intern, you will have opportunities to work directly with clients and families. Interns will conduct child engagement, assist with the center’s annual projects, participate in on-call crisis support, and create activities that promote distraction and coping techniques.
Accepting Degree Majors in: Psychology, Family Studies, Criminal Justice, Child Development, Child Life, or other related fields.
Internship Requirements:
Weekly Availability: 16 hours in the spring/fall and 20 hours in the summer.

Child Abuse Prevention Internships
As a Child Abuse Prevention Intern, you will support the development, coordination, and delivery of anti-victimization educational programs. You will have opportunities to work directly with members of the Multidisciplinary Team, assist with the Center’s annual projects, develop educational materials, presentations, resources, and activities related to child abuse prevention.
Accepting Degree Majors in: Communications, Public Health, Business Administration, Law, Psychology, Family Studies, Education, Criminal Justice, or other related fields.
Internship Requirements: (Two Semester Commitment)
Weekly Availability: 16 hours in the spring/fall and 20 hours in the summer.
- Participate in a mandatory three-day orientation prior to beginning the internship
- Pass a criminal background check
- Pass an applicant interview process
- Acquire moderate public speaking and presentation skills

Clinical Internships
We accept graduate-level practicum students as well as LPC Associates for our clinical internship program. Students and LPC Associates have the unique opportunity to not only offer therapeutic services to the children and families who come to CACCC, but also work directly with the law enforcement, the district attorney, and CPS agencies that collaborate with the center.
