Overview:

The Bilingual Family Advocate Caseworker reports directly to the Family Advocate Supervisor. This position provides support services to child abuse victims and non-offending family members at the time of the forensic interview and throughout the investigation and prosecution of the case. This position also helps families access and obtain community resources and provides accompaniment services. This position will be in the McKinney location of Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County with some travel to the Plano location of Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English Required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field. Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • 1-year experience working with child abuse victims and their families.
  • 1-year experience working in a Multidisciplinary team environment related to child abuse.
  • Knowledge of child development, family dynamics, and abuse dynamics.
  • Experience with diverse cultures, languages, and situations.
  • Experience working in crisis-oriented situations.

Overview:

The Clinical Supervisor reports to the Director of Clinical Services and provides direct supervision of staff and/or interns in the clinical department, provides therapeutic services, and assists in the day-to-day operations of the department. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in a mental health related field
  • Current LPC-S (or LPC-S eligible within 6 months) or LCSW-S licensure in Texas
  • 2 years’ experience in the field of child abuse
  • 2 years’ experience providing therapeutic services to children
  • Clinical supervision experience.

Job Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of child abuse and the systems involved in the investigation, prosecution and treatment of victims
  • Knowledge of victim issues and rights in the state of Texas

Overview:

The Special Events Manager reports to the Vice President of Development and is responsible for managing all aspects of special events; from collaboration on conceptualization to execution of events that will maximize fundraising opportunities for CACCC.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College Degree
  • Experience developing and executing high-level fundraising events
  • Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and Greater Giving

Job Skills Required:

  • Proven track record of developing and executing high level fundraising events.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain donor, volunteer and vendor relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and manage event budgets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage budget of event(s) including records of receipts for event expenditures, payment of vendors and payment of sponsors/partners.
  • Plan and execute all aspects of special events to maximize revenue, including venue, entertainment, catering and all logistics.
  • Develop print materials for all special events, including but not limited to: save the date, invitations, sponsor books and event programs.
  • Work collaboratively with donors, staff and volunteers to secure items for silent and live auctions for all fundraising events.
  • Vet all consignment partners to find fresh, affordable, high quality auction options for our donors.
  • Manage all auction data entry, forecast and item photography.
  • Build collaborative, successful relationships with special event volunteers and committee members.
  • Lead special event committee meetings, create agendas, follow up with all members regarding tasks.
  • Plan and execute all aspects of the annual Guardian Angel Reception.
  • Plan and execute all aspects of special annual events that vary from year to year such as committee appreciation events, retirement receptions, Open Houses and Community Cocktail Hours.
  • Work with Community Relations Manager to develop content for website and press releases, and promotion related to all special events and car raffle.
  • Ensure donations are received, recorded and that thank you letters are written to donors, participants, committee members, volunteers, etc. for each event and special project.
  • Collaborate and manage all logistical details for CAC’s special projects such as Back to School Fair and Holiday Project.
  • Manage portfolio of 15-20 donors to establish long term and meaningful relationships for the Advocacy Center.
  • Provide information as needed for the annual special event audit
  • Regular communication with Vice President of Development regarding event budget, event status, event challenges, volunteer needs, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor

Overview:

The Facility Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Director of Facility and Operations and assists with the daily maintenance of the Center. This position will be in McKinney and may require traveling to our Plano location on occasions

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience working in a facilities department or in a managerial or coordinator position.

Job Skills Required:

  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals associated with general maintenance, installation, and operation of carpentry, plumbing, painting/resurfacing, light electrical, and HVAC equipment
  • Possess strong organizational skills

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe and well-maintained facility to enhance the experience for staff, clients, and volunteers
  • Perform routine tasks such as repairs, painting, light replacement, set-up, and tear down of meeting rooms. Assist with set-up of special projects: Teddy Bear Ride, Holiday Project, Back to School Fair, Gala, etc.
  • Purchase materials needed for facility maintenance with Manager approval
  • Keep building exterior and parking lot (s) free of trash and debris
  • Receive and respond to requests for building or equipment maintenance in a timely manner 
  • Perform routine inspections of office and building space for safety compliance
  • Oversee facility-related volunteer projects
  • Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and stock of daily use items
  • The ability to build and develop business relationships and partnerships at all organizational levels, internally and externally

Internships

Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County is committed to providing a hands-on experience for undergraduate and graduate students studying social work, clinical therapy, child development, or other human services studies.

FAMILY ADVOCACY INTERNSHIPS:

The Family Advocacy and Support Services Department is no longer accepting applicants for the Summer 2022 semester. We are now accepting applications for Fall 2022.

As a Family Advocate Intern Caseworker, you will have opportunities to work directly with client families, as well as assist our Multi-Disciplinary Team in investigations and manage cases of alleged abuse and neglect. As an intern, you will gain invaluable experience in conducting needs assessments, conducting home visits, supervising court-ordered parent-child visits, observing criminal and civil trials, and understanding how a Multi-Disciplinary Team works. Please note, this is an unpaid internship.

Internship Requirements:

  • Weekly Availability: 16 hours in the spring/fall and 20 hours in the summer
  • Participate in a mandatory three-day orientation prior to beginning the internship
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Pass an applicant interview process
  • Participate in weekly supervision activities

CLINICAL INTERNSHIPS:

Our Clinical training program offers Graduate students/LPC Associates the opportunity to receive practical experience in multiple therapeutic modalities including play, individual, art, music, family, and group therapies.

We accept Graduate level practicum students as well as LPC Associates for our clinical internship program.  Students and LPC Associates have the unique opportunity to not only offer therapeutic services to the children and families who come to the CACCC, but work directly with the law enforcement, District Attorney, and CPS agencies that collaborate with the center.

CHILD ENGAGEMENT INTERNSHIP:

We are now accepting applications for Fall 2022.

As a Child Advocate Intern, you will have opportunities to work directly with clients and families. Interns will conduct Child Engagement, assist with the center’s annual projects, participate in on-call crisis support, and create activities that promote distraction and coping techniques.

Accepting Degree Majors in: Psychology, Family Studies, Criminal Justice, Child Development, Child Life, or other related fields. 

Internship Requirements:
